• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for optimal performance.
• Perform post-processing of CAM programs to generate machine-readable G-code.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.
• Conduct first-article inspections and make necessary program adjustments to ensure part quality.
• Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and related documentation.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programming efficiency and accuracy.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with tool selection, cutting parameters, and fixture design.
• Practical knowledge of various materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
• Proficiency in a secondary programming language (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation or data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs for efficiency and quality.
• Familiarity with a variety of machine controls beyond primary experience (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
• Experience with 5-axis programming and complex part geometries.
