Weld Technician - Delta Township Area

Weld Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

The Pivot Group Network, a West Michigan manufacturing-focused recruiting group, is dedicated to building meaningful connections in the manufacturing community. We are collaborating with companies in Delta Township seeking experienced Weld Technicians.

Our partner companies may or may not have an immediate opening for this exact role today, but we actively look for skilled professionals in the regions where they operate. The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Weld Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on various materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting tools.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize welding processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and welding metallurgy
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and troubleshoot welding issues

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with robotic welding systems.
  • Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • A CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
