Responsibilities:

As a Security Technician, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, employees, and all who interact with the organization. This role requires a vigilant and professional team member who can conduct thorough patrols, respond effectively to incidents, communicate clearly with diverse groups, and uphold safety and security standards across the facility. You will play a key part in risk prevention, emergency response, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the Security Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all required training within established timeframes and maintain full knowledge of departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

  • Conduct routine and adhoc patrols of hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and safety or infectioncontrol hazards.

  • Document all shift activities through accurate logs, incident reports, and required written documentation, ensuring accountability for the full duration of each shift.

  • Inspect and maintain security equipment. Including patrol vehicles, uniforms, and communication devices. Reporting issues promptly and ensuring readiness for duty.

  • Respond to securityrelated incidents such as workplace violence reports, requests for escorts, key services, vehicle assists, and other calls for service with appropriate urgency.

  • Conduct investigations, collaborate with local/state/federal agencies when authorized, and professionally interact with employees, physicians, visitors, contractors, and vendors.

  • Support emergency and safety operations, including participation on the Hazardous Material/Decontamination team and assisting medical staff with violent, agitated, or restrained individuals.

  • Manage patient valuables, lostandfound items, and parking/traffic control; enforce parking policies and monitor visitor conduct to ensure a safe environment.

  • Maintain confidentiality, report misconduct or safety concerns promptly, and keep supervisors informed of activities, location, and any changes relevant to employment.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, extended standing, and foot patrols and assist with lifting patients, visitors, staff, or deceased individuals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent

  • Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience is preferred.

  • All facilities require the ability to drive a company owned vehicle. Must have a current New Mexico driver's license, and must be insurable by Presbyterian Healthcare Services
