    Summary:

    Presbyterian is seeking a Security Officer who provides a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, visitors, and anyone interacting with PHS facilities. The role requires a solid working knowledge of security equipment and systems, along with active participation in hazard and risk surveillance to support the overall execution of the security program. Type of Opportunity: Full time Job Exempt: No Job is based: Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

    Responsibilities:

    • Completes all required training, attends mandatory meetings, and maintains uptodate knowledge through ongoing professional development.
    • Conducts routine and ad hoc patrols of buildings and grounds, performing hazard surveillance for safety, security, infection control, fire risks, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
    • Responds to security incidents including workplace violence, disturbances, and requests for assistance; gathers information, investigates, and prepares accurate incident reports and documentation.
    • Interacts professionally with patients, employees, physicians, visitors, contractors, and vendors, maintaining confidentiality and reporting misconduct or complaints to appropriate authorities.
    • Provides customerservice-oriented support such as escorts, key services, vehicle assists, traffic and parking control, and monitoring visitor conduct.
    • Maintains and operates security equipment, patrol vehicles, radios, and uniforms; completes daily logs, equipment checklists, and shift passon information.
    • Serves as a member of the PHS ADS Hazardous Material/Decontamination team and assists with securing patient valuables, lostandfound items, and other controlled materials.
    • Collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies as approved by PHS, following established policies, procedures, and chain of responsibility.
    • Performs physically demanding tasks including lifting 50+ pounds, assisting with patient or decedent lifting, standing for long periods, and defending self or others during violent incidents; assists medical staff with restraints when necessary.
    • Keeps supervisors informed of shift activities, location, equipment issues, personal information changes, and any breaches of safety, security, or confidentiality.

    Qualifications:

    • Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred.
    • Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills.
    • Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician.
    • Must be able to demonstrate familiarization of hospital locations and operations within 6 months of hire date.
    • All facilities require the ability to drive a company owned vehicle. Must have a current New Mexico drivers license, and must be insurable by Presbyterian Healthcare Services
