Responsibilities

Want to be part of an MBSE effort that's driving integration and accelerating weapons systems analysis across the Intelligence Community?

Peraton was recently awarded a highly strategic mission: to design and implement a consolidated, integrated MBSE architecture across all major Intel Centers in support of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD). This unified architecture will speed up threat analysis, improve decision-making, and ensure technical synchronization across a national mission.

As a Model-Based Systems Engineer, you'll help architect and lead this transformation-working with senior government stakeholders and technical teams across:

    • MSIC (Redstone Arsenal, AL)
    • NSIC (Dayton, OH)
    • ONI (Suitland, MD)

You will help shape the future of systems analysis and command & control modeling at the enterprise level-creating a tangible impact on national defense.

Your Role: Engineering Integration at Mission Speed

As a Model-Based Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Provide on-site MBSE support at major intelligence centers (Huntsville, Suitland, Dayton, Charlottesville)
  • Develop high-fidelity Systems Modeling Language (SysML) architecture models focused on foreign missile systems and Command & Control (C2) systems
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrated DoDAF-compliant system architecture views and SysML artifacts
  • Collaborate with government technical leads, product owners, and agency stakeholders on system modeling and requirements
  • Produce high-quality technical and design documentation in support of system development and analysis
  • Drive MBSE standardization, integration, and best practices across the joint environment
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience with a BS/BA; 6+ years of relevant experience with MS/MA, and 3+ years of relevant experience with Ph.D.(An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudicated and able to pass a polygraph
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools
  • Experience developing SysML artifacts in support of real-world systems
  • Familiarity with ITASE (Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment)
  • Working knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple agencies and locations in a coordinated technical team

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Poly
  • Experience supporting or working within the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • Familiarity with some of the following tools:
    • Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, Cameo Simulation Toolkit
    • RMSiS, MathWorks, CATIA, Simulink, STK
    • Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel
    • UAF/SysML, Enovia, NGTS, AFSIM
  • Demonstrated experience presenting technical updates to government customers and senior stakeholders

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
