    Responsibilities
    • End-to-End Development: Lead the design, coding, testing, and deployment of backend services and features that provide Video services.
    • System Integration: Work on integrating various backend services with external systems, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.
    • Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize the performance of backend services, focusing on improving scalability and reliability.
    • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve more complex issues, including those related to network protocols, database performance, and service orchestration.
    • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1 developers, helping them navigate technical challenges and grow their skills.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including CPE developers, Mobile developers, Web developers, network engineers, and product managers, to align project goals and technical requirements.
    • Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure the quality and maintainability of the codebase.

    Job Summary
    As an SDE II for Video Backend Services, you will design, build, and optimize backend systems that deliver video services and metadata at scale. You'll lead feature development, contribute to architectural decisions, integrate with external systems, and ensure high performance and reliability. This role requires strong backend engineering skills, the ability to solve complex technical issues, and the capacity to mentor junior developers while collaborating across teams.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software development, automation, and tools.
    • Programming Languages: Strong Java or C; experience with concurrency, multithreading, and design patterns.
    • Web/Services: Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, authentication, rate limiting.
    • Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, socket programming.
    • Databases: SQL (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra/Redis), ORM (Hibernate).
    • CI/CD & Version Control: Git, branching strategies, Jenkins/Bamboo/GitLab CI.
    • Testing: Unit, integration, and E2E testing; strong debugging and profiling skills.
    • Tools: Eclipse/ST4E, VMs, GCP, containers.
    • Scripting: Bash/Python/PowerShell; basic IaC (Terraform/Ansible).

The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in is $100,246.00 - $143,208.00 / year. For other locations, please inquire with your recruiter.
