    Job description

    OmniSource

    We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Production Employee to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in being a key part of keeping operations running smoothly.


    As a Production Employee, you’ll play a critical role in the manufacturing process by maintaining plant operations including picking and sorting metals, operating mobile equipment, and housekeeping/cleaning of the yard. You’ll work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and keep operations moving efficiently.


    Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety will be essential in delivering high-quality results and supporting daily operations.

    • Picking Line - Sort scrap to upgrade & remove nonconforming items
    • Clean any spillage from conveyors using both mobile equipment and hand tools.
    • Maintain Mobile and Fixed Equipment
    • All other duties as assigned

    • A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations
    • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
    • Ability to stand/work for long periods of time
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more repetitively on a regular basis
    • Must be self-motivated team player, anxious and willing to learn new skills

    Founded in Fort Wayne, IN in 1943, OmniSource, LLC has grown to become one of North America’s largest processors, distributors, and managers of scrap and secondary metals. We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. The company ships over 5 million gross tons of recycled steel and 1 billion pounds of nonferrous and stainless-steel scrap annually. Our primary collection and processing facilities are concentrated in the Midwest, the South, and the Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
