Job description

As a Quality Control Inspector, you are the final line of defense in ensuring our precision metal fabrications meet the highest standards of excellence. You will utilize engineering blueprints, technical specifications, and precision hand tools to validate the integrity of manufactured products and raw materials. Beyond simple measurement, you will act as a key communicator between Engineering, Production, and Purchasing, ensuring that every component leaving our facility is a reflection of our commitment to quality.

Whats In It For You
  • Impactful Work: Play a critical role in the production cycle by ensuring zero-defect delivery to our customers.
  • Professional Growth: Gain hands-on experience with advanced fabrication theories, CAD software, and ISO compliance standards.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors in a culture that values honesty, fairness, and the pursuit of excellence.
  • Competitive Stability: Join a forward-thinking manufacturing team that offers a clear compensation structure and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities Include
  • First Article & In-Process Inspection: Conduct detailed First Article Inspections (FAI) for laser and turret operations; perform random floor audits to troubleshoot quality issues in real-time.
  • Vendor Quality Management: Inspect and approve/reject materials sent for secondary operations such as manufacturing; manage incoming vendor receipts against strict specifications.
  • Precision Measurement: Verify centerlines, assembly layouts, and physical properties of orders, sheets, and materials using calibrated equipment.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Compare shop drawings to finished assemblies; generate Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) for rejected parts and maintain meticulous inspection logs.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and compliant with ISO codes; coordinate annual audits with external vendors.
  • Customer Liaison: Address customer and vendor inquiries regarding quality, evaluate returned products (RMAs), and formulate repair routers to resolve discrepancies before shipment.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma required; a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Quality Engineering is preferred (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication preferred) with 3-5 years of dedicated quality inspection experience.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Shop Tech, and Pro E CAD software; strong understanding of flat pattern generation and welding processes (MIG/TIG/Resistance).
  • Analytical Mindset: Expert ability to interpret blueprints, calculate tonnages, and make independent, high-stakes decisions regarding part compliance.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with customers and the ability to maintain organized, detailed technical records.
Compensation

Pay will be offered based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications, with an expected hourly wage of $25 - $30/hr.

Benefits

We offer comprehensive benefits to include health and an incentive recognition bonus (all benefits are based on eligibility).
