As an Industrial Engineer at Lutron, you'll help shape how our industry leading smart lighting and shading products move from concept to large-scale production. You'll partner with product design, tooling, and manufacturing teams to build processes that embody Lutron's commitment to precision and world-class product experience. 

You'll design and refine assembly lines, develop clear and effective process documentation, and define requirements for tooling and workstations that elevate ergonomics, quality, and efficiency. You'll use industry tools to model and optimize production flow, ensuring new products launch smoothly and scale confidently.

Manufacturing opportunities are located in our distribution and production facilities in Austin, TX 

There are a variety of technical areas throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as:   

• Develop process assembly and optimization, including time studies, production line balancing, and work cell design to efficiently meet customer demand

• Progress effective documentation of standard work procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation

• Establish requirement specification for tooling and workstations related to ergonomics, methods of engineering, process efficiency and quality

• Utilize tools such as Timer Pro and Flex Sim to simulate, analyze, and prescribe the production process during development and post launch

• Apply project management skills in coordinating efforts between engineering, quality, operations, and our manufacturing plant

• Collect and analyze data from global manufacturing sites to drive continuous improvement and best practices

• Collaborate with product design and tooling teams to design consumer products and processes for manufacturability

• Handle industry standard tools to develop, analyze and document manufacturing processes

• Execute assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals

• Support production of new products by driving resolution to issues and implementing improvements, from prototype builds through transfer to a long-term facility

• Collect and analyze process capability data for presentation to key stakeholders

• Utilize Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) concepts to analyze new products 

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned

• 0-3 years' experience in a related field

• You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

• Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week

• Willingness to travel up to 10 - 20% of the time for inter-office collaboration, international production line bring-up, etc.
