Job description

HumCap is recruiting on behalf of a growing, employee-owned organization in the industrial distribution space. The company has built a strong reputation for helping organizations maximize efficiency, improve workflow, and optimize physical environments through customized solutions and exceptional customer service.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Territory Sales Representative to drive new business development and territory growth within the commercial market. This consultative sales role is focused on building long-term client relationships, identifying customer challenges, and delivering solutions that enhance space utilization, organization, security, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional with experience selling commercial products, office environments, facility solutions, furniture, storage systems, or other business-to-business solutions. This role offers significant earning potential, autonomy, and the opportunity to grow an established territory while working with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships within designated commercial territories.
  • Build partnerships with facility managers, operations leaders, procurement professionals, architects, and executive stakeholders.
  • Consult with clients to understand workspace, storage, organization, and workflow challenges.
  • Present customized solutions that align with customer goals and operational needs.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, presentations, proposal development, negotiations, and closing.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic outreach, and relationship management.
  • Accurately track sales activities, forecasts, and opportunities within CRM systems.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and market opportunities to drive continued territory growth.
Qualifications
Required
  • 7+ years of outside sales, territory sales, or business development experience.
  • Proven success generating new business and growing revenue within a defined territory.
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working with commercial customers and multiple decision-makers throughout the buying process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a sales pipeline effectively.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience selling into commercial environments will stand out, including:
  • Office furniture and workspace solutions
  • Interior and facility solutions
  • Commercial storage systems
  • Filing and records management solutions
  • Modular casework and workspace products
  • Smart locker technologies
  • Asset tracking and RFID solutions
  • Facility equipment and workplace optimization products
Ideal Candidate
  • Relationship-oriented and consultative rather than transactional.
  • Skilled at developing long-term accounts and earning trusted-advisor status.
  • Comfortable working with facility, operations, and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Entrepreneurial, driven, and capable of building market share within a territory.
  • Organized and disciplined in managing a healthy sales pipeline and sales process.
  • Motivated by growth opportunities and performance-based earnings.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Uncapped commission structure
  • Expected earnings potential of $150,000+
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) program
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Parental leave benefits
  • Employee ownership participation (ESOP)
