    Job description

HumCap's client, a manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to join their operations team. This role owns the accuracy and timeliness of the production process, with a focus on making sure materials, goods, and workspace are aligned for optimal performance on the shop floor.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan production schedules to meet delivery commitments; monitor progress against schedule via dispatch lists; flag risks to management and communicate the release of jobs into WIP.
    • Keep all open production jobs current, updated, and correctly prioritized on the dispatch lists.
    • Research and resolve issues on jobs or work orders projected to run past due.
    • Coordinate across Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Shipping, and Production teams.
    • Provide detailed delivery commitments for new orders.
    • Maintain accurate scheduling data in the company's ERP/MRP system.
    • Prepare management reports as required and analyze material usage variances.
    • Manage the production order life cycle against established goals and inventory plans against established targets.
    • Provide backup support to the broader production planning team.
    • Conduct rough-cut capacity planning before publishing a dispatch list when significant changes have occurred.
    • Serve as an internal resource on scheduling, training others across the company to build broader understanding of scheduling functions.
    • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts around material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity.
    • Maintain scheduling parameters — lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data — for all scheduled items.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships across every function in the company.
    • Flag to management when demand can't be met and recommend alternatives to satisfy it.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of related manufacturing experience in an MRP/ERP environment.
    • Required ERP experience (PLEX experience a plus).
    • In-depth understanding of routings, multi-level bills of material, lead times, and supply chain concepts.
    • Ability to conceptualize supply chain and inventory flow.
    • Strong presentation skills, one-on-one and in small groups, including with supervisors.
    • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
    • Strong leadership abilities.
    • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Sound, independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with analytical and mathematical ability.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Team-oriented, with a sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
    • APICS training a plus.
