HR Green is growing our Water Resources practice in Florida, and we're looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to help lead that growth. Sarasota is the preferred location, though other Florida locations may be considered for the right candidate.

You'll lead water resources projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design, permitting, and construction support. This is a seller/doer role where you'll combine technical expertise and project leadership with client relationships and business development.

Your work will focus on hydrologic/hydraulic (H&H) modeling, stormwater design, and flood resiliency, with opportunities to address both inland and coastal water resources challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water resources projects, including drainage studies and design, stormwater management, flood mitigation, flood resiliency, and watershed planning
  • Serve as a primary client contact and trusted technical advisor
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project performance
  • Develop and review technical reports, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting documents
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and lead QA/QC efforts
  • Navigate applicable Florida regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients and contribute to proposals, pursuits, interviews, and presentations
  • Develop scopes, fees, and project approaches for new opportunities
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong experience with drainage studies and design, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis
  • Strong project management experience, including scope, budget, schedule, and delivery
  • Experience leading teams and managing client relationships
  • Experience with flood resiliency, floodplain management, and watershed planning
  • Experience developing proposals, scopes, fees, and project approaches preferred
  • Florida water resources permitting, regulatory, or local agency experience preferred
  • Coastal modeling, storm surge, or coastal resiliency experience is a plus; strong inland modeling experience is also highly valued
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
