Job Title: Scientific Associate Scientist II Bio Chemical Analysis
Job Location: Kansas City, MO
Job Duration: 6 months contract (Temp to Hire)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Associate Scientist II BioChemical Analysis is primarily responsible for performing laboratory testing, drafting methods, and reporting data under cGMP regulatory guidance for large molecules/biologics product development and stability studies.
The ideal candidate will execute laboratory testing using various analytical techniques while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, safety procedures, and quality practices. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory testing of biologics and large molecule samples following cGMP regulatory standards
  • Execute compendial assays including appearance, pH, osmolality, particulate measurements, and viscosity
  • Conduct analytical testing using techniques such as:
  • Karl Fischer titration
  • UV-Vis spectroscopy
  • HPLC/UPLC methods (SEC, IEX, RP-HPLC, HIC, peptide mapping, glycan analysis)
  • Aggregation techniques (MFI, AUC, SEC-MALS)
  • Capillary and gel electrophoresis (CE-SDS, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, IEF, Western blot)
  • Analytical technologies including FTIR, Circular Dichroism (CD), Intrinsic Fluorescence, and DSC
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with strict attention to detail
  • Document testing activities accurately and maintain compliance with cGMP requirements
  • Assist in drafting simple analytical methods, forms, and result reports
  • Operate laboratory equipment safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Support quality, safety, and compliance initiatives within the laboratory environment
  • Perform ad-hoc testing and additional duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory testing principles and scientific concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of cGMP laboratory practices.
  • Familiarity with biologics or large molecule testing.
  • Experience with analytical laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong documentation and data reporting skills.
