Job Summary:

The Automation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and operating automation systems throughout the Marcellus region. Incumbents will provide both day to day support and preventive maintenance to critical equipment utilized at various field locations including well sites, compressor stations, and tank batteries. The technician must understand industrial communication equipment and systems, including PLC programming and configurations, within an oil and gas production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

Install and maintain automation equipment and communication instruments throughout the Marcellus Region.

Program and configure PLC devices to ensure operational efficiency and reliability

Install and calibrate numerous level, pressure, and temperature transmitters on crucial production

equipment

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various communication devices located at remote operational

facilities

Perform testing on all new and existing devices for functionality, shutdowns, and alarm notifications

Communicate regularly with operations, SCADA, engineering, and measurement teams

Coordinate contract workers as needed to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently

Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate

policies

Other tasks as assigned

Skill and Experience:

Experience with TotalFlow, PCCU, and Allen-Bradley automation equipment strongly preferred

Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently

Must have strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills

This position requires a valid state issued driver's license and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in this position are also subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT regulations.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)s required.

Years of Experience:

1-2 years of experience in oilfield operations, gas plants, or related experience with PLC programming and configurations, as well as understanding of electronic flow meters and other production equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires a valid state issued driver's license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in the position may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT Regulations. Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks
