DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a highly experienced Senior CI Instructor – Operations to support advanced operational training initiatives for Intelligence Community and Department of Defense personnel.


This role is ideal for an experienced counterintelligence or HUMINT professional with deep operational expertise and a passion for developing the next generation of mission professionals. The selected candidate will support the design, development, and delivery of operational instruction, practical exercises, and mission-focused tradecraft training within classified environments.


The ideal candidate possesses strong instructional capabilities, operational credibility, and the ability to engage and mentor students in both classroom and field exercise settings.


What You’ll Do
  • Deliver advanced operational instruction supporting CI and HUMINT mission requirements
  • Facilitate classroom instruction, practical exercises, simulations, and operational role-play scenarios
  • Support development and refinement of course materials, lesson plans, and instructional content
  • Evaluate student performance and provide operational feedback and mentorship
  • Ensure training content remains aligned with current operational tradecraft, doctrine, and mission requirements
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, instructors, and operational SMEs to enhance training effectiveness
  • Support classified training events and field exercises as required
  • Maintain compliance with all security, operational, and instructional standards
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver operationally relevant CI/HUMINT instruction
  • Support curriculum modernization and training enhancement initiatives
  • Conduct student evaluations and performance assessments
  • Participate in scenario development and exercise execution
  • Ensure instructional content reflects current intelligence community standards and operational practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise during mission planning and training coordination activities
  • Support training documentation, reporting, and after-action review processes
  • Maintain operational security and compliance within classified environments
Requirements:Required Skills
  • Extensive operational experience within Counterintelligence, HUMINT, or related intelligence disciplines
  • Strong instructional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop intelligence professionals in classroom and operational settings
  • Experience conducting operational planning, execution, and mission support activities
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced classified environments
  • Proficiency in developing instructional materials and operational exercises
Education & Qualifications


Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required
  • CI Polygraph preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Minimum 8+ years of operational intelligence, CI, or HUMINT experience
  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community operational environments
  • Prior instructor or training experience supporting intelligence operations
  • Graduate of recognized IC or DoD operational training programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DIA, INSCOM, SOCOM, or other IC organizations
  • Operational deployment experience
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Experience supporting field exercises and scenario-based operational training
  • Advanced operational tradecraft certifications or instructor certifications

Salary Range

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, certifications, clearance status, market data, contract requirements, and internal equity considerations.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position is performed primarily within secure government facilities and may require extended periods of sitting, standing, presenting instruction, or supporting field exercises. Occasional CONUS travel may be required in support of training missions.
