DarkStar Intelligence is seeking an experienced Joint Military Counterintelligence Collection Course (JMCCC) Instructor to support the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), a premier organization delivering advanced counterintelligence training across the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. JCITA provides comprehensive instruction in CI operations, collections, investigations, functional services, and analysis through in-residence courses, mobile training teams, and distributed learning environments while maintaining accreditation standards established by the Council on Occupational Education (COE).
The JMCCC Instructor will deliver mission-focused instruction designed to prepare Counterintelligence (CI) Agents to independently plan and execute CI collection operations aimed at identifying and detecting Foreign Intelligence Entity (FIE) activities targeting the Department of Defense (DoD). This role requires a highly experienced CI professional with demonstrated expertise conducting the full counterintelligence operational cycle and the ability to translate operational knowledge into engaging classroom instruction and practical exercises.
The position supports a rigorous training environment that includes extended instructional days, hands-on operational exercises, after-hours support, weekend activities, and travel throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting and possess strong instructional, operational, and communication skills to effectively mentor and develop the next generation of CI professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom and practical instruction for the Joint Military Counterintelligence Collection Course (JMCCC)
  • Train CI professionals to independently plan, execute, and assess CI collection operations
  • Develop and facilitate operationally relevant practical exercises and scenario-based training events
  • Evaluate student performance through formal assessments, practical exercises, and instructional feedback
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students on CI tradecraft, operational planning, and source handling techniques
  • Support curriculum updates and instructional improvements to ensure alignment with current mission requirements and tradecraft standards
  • Coordinate closely with government leadership, instructors, and operational SMEs to maintain course quality and instructional effectiveness
  • Support mobile training requirements and travel within the NCR as required
  • Maintain compliance with JCITA instructional standards and COE accreditation requirements

Requirements
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience conducting, supervising, and/or instructing counterintelligence (CI) or HUMINT collection activities
  • Operational experience conducting the full CI collection operational cycle
  • Strong understanding of counterintelligence collection methodologies, operational planning, and source handling techniques
  • Experience supporting high-tempo operational or training environments
  • Experience serving as a Senior Source Handler, Team Chief, or Operations Officer
  • Prior instructor or curriculum development experience within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense training environments
  • Experience conducting or supporting Level II Military Counterintelligence Collection (MCC) operations
  • Master's degree (MA/MS) required
  • Graduate of an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent credentialing school required
  • Completion of one or more of the following JCITA source handling courses required:
  • Military Counterintelligence Collection (MCC) Course
  • Advanced CI Collection Course (ACICC)
  • Joint Military Counterintelligence Collection Course (JMCCC)
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance required
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access with polygraph eligibility or willingness to complete a polygraph examination
