Job description

To assist in the maintenance and repairs of all facilities and to assure a safe and suitable work environment for Community Aid employees and their activities. As with all positions employed by Community Aid, the Maintenance Technician is to maintain a high standard of professionalism and provide top quality service and appreciation to every customer, client and employee.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for handling facility repairs as problems arise including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and HVAC
  • Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all facilities
  • Ensure that all work is done in compliance with industry standards, OSHA and other legal requirements
  • Communicate any material and equipment needs as well as daily progress of ongoing projects
  • Conduct periodic inspections to determine repair needs and serve as the point of contact for management when they need to report a problem

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Excellent customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Must be able to travel between all CommunityAid locations
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds and pass a DOT and fit for duty physical, a DMV and background check
