Job description
The S&TB Bakken Facilities Engineer - Low Pressure Gathering (LPG) Projects role is responsible for the development and execution of onshore facilities and pipeline infrastructure supporting unconventional oil and gas production across Upstream and Midstream operations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- The position delivers gathering infrastructure required to support new well pad development, expansions to existing gathering systems, and replacement or repair of existing pipeline assets.
- The role executes multiple projects ranging from approximately $1MM to $50MM with typical durations of 6 to 12 months. Accountabilities span all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement, land easement acquisition, regulatory permitting, construction, and commissioning. The Facilities Engineer partners closely with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Land, Regulatory, and Operations to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable infrastructure aligned with asset development plans.
- The position works in close coordination with Bakken Wells Factory & Execution (WFE) stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered ahead of initial production and integrated with overall development schedules. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, manage execution risk, optimize cost and schedule, and deliver projects safely and efficiently is required.
- This role is part of the Bakken S&TB Greenfield Facilities Projects organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry; project management, operations, engineering, and/or maintenance experience preferred
- Work location: Minot, North Dakota with required capacity for traveling to/from field.
- Ability to manage external engineering and construction service providers
- Ability to perform effectively under time pressure while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and results
