    Job description

    Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Lead Specialist, Environment Regulatory & Compliance through June 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).

    Responsible for environmental and regulatory technical support on issues related to permitting, rule implementation, data management, and environmental reporting (air, GHG, water, waste, biodiversity). Monitors and supports other groups in tracking updates on U.S. federal/state and relevant international legislation and regulations. Leads development of compliance plans for environmental regulations impacting multiple media, business segments and/or geographies, and coordinates technical support for development of local compliance plans. Ensures adherence to Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) standards, and applicable environmental laws, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with Chevron's Corporate Affairs, Strategy and Environment & Regulatory stakeholders. Opportunity to positively influence Chevron's enterprise-wide environmental performance. Reports to General Manager, Environment within Chevron's Technology, Projects & Execution - Health, Safety & Environment (TPE HSE) organization.

    Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

    • Provideenvironmental and regulatory technicalexpertiseon issues related to permitting, rule implementation, data management, and environmental reporting(air, GHG, water, waste, biodiversity).
    • Supportenvironmental compliance programs across Chevron's Upstream, Downstream, Midstream & Chemicals (DM&C) and Technology, Projects & Execution (TPE) organizations.
    • Monitor,interpretandadvise onU.S. federal, state and local, and relevant international environmental and ESG regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Develop and update environmental procedures, plans, and reporting systems in alignment with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with Chevron's Corporate Affairsorganization onenvironmental and ESG-relatedmessaging, and with Chevron's Environmental Strategy stakeholders on developing positions and identifying gaps.
    • Provide training and guidance on environmental regulatory requirements and best practices.
    • Participate in Environment technical working groups to share insights and drive continuous improvement.
    • Support development and/or optimization of digital tools for environmental data management and reporting.
    • Lead tracking and coordination around closure of any environment-related findings from corporate OE audits.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
    • 10+ years' experience in environmental compliance and permitting, with 5+ years' of experience within oil & gas and/or manufacturing industries.
    • Strong knowledge of environmental laws,permittingprocesses, and compliance frameworks.
    • Outstanding organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in environmental audits, reporting systems, and agency interactions.
    • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills within engineering and HSE teams.
    • Proficiencyin digital tools for compliance tracking and reporting (e.g., MSOfficeapplications,AI tools,Power BI).
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders effectively.
