Talascend is currently seeking a Warehouse Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves loading and unloading materials within a warehouse or storage facility, utilizing handling equipment, and adhering to safety and operational guidelines. The position requires physical stamina and technical familiarity with systems like SAP.
Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials within a warehouse or storage facility
  • Use hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move materials to and from aircraft, trucks, trains, or within the storage area
  • Follow pre-established safety and warehouse procedures with strict attention to instructions and detail
  • Learn and navigate proprietary SAP programs for tracking and managing materials
  • Lift up to 35 pounds and remain on your feet for the duration of your shift
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to adhere to instructions and safety guidelines
  • Comfortable learning and using SAP software
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 35 pounds and sustain physical activity
  • Attention to detail and self-motivation to work efficiently without constant oversight
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating handling equipment such as forklifts or conveyors
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to warehouse operations

Position shift is Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 9:30pm, and Friday from 12pm to 8:30pm. Moderate exposure to machinery, chemical, biological, and physical risks is anticipated. The role is on-site with no remote options.
