Job description


Position Purpose: With a focus on providing superior customer service and leading a successful bakery team, the Asst. Bakery Team Lead is someone who strives to meet department goals and objectives while providing customers with product expertise and the freshest, tastiest and best quality bakery products.
Responsibilities: An Asst. Bakery Team Lead is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
An Asst. Bakery Team Lead's responsibilities include:
  • Directing bakery department personnel, meeting department's goals and objectives
  • Managing and bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty.
  • Communicating directly with the bakery team lead, store director and bakery specialist.
  • Ordering the supplies and products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Merchandising bakery goods in accordance with bakery merchandising standards.
  • Execute and support all sales and merchandising initiatives.
  • Serving as the leader of his/her department, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for his/her team.
  • Ensuring department and team compliance with heath department and weights and measures requirements.
  • Understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage.
  • Keeping a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.
  • Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety.
  • Taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • All other related duties as assigned

Standing, Sitting, Lifting + Stocking (Up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, Bending
