Job description

Spot Welder Apprentice 

Pay: CAD $30.24

Hours: 7:30Am – 4:00PM (Regular Fulltime)

Monday – Friday

Who we are looking for:

Sasco, a division of Atkore, is currently searching for a Spot Welder Apprentice to be based out of North York - Toronto. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and fabrication environment, preferably in spot welding. Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives will be considered an asset.

The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Able to be taught and follow directions.
    • Perform tasks assigned by your manager, supervisor, leads or trainer.
    • Able to work with spot welding machines and other similar machines in the facility.
    • Assist and learn how to operate the machines that are part of the position you are being trained and a desire to learn other tasks.
    • Adhere to all Life-Saving Rules, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding requirements, the prohibition of bypassing safety controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols. Comply with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements and company safety policies.
    • Comply with all Atkore policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, Respectful Workplace, Workplace Harassment, and other corporate policies.

    • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

    • Ability to reliably commute to the plant on a daily basis.

    • Availability to work full-time and all assigned shifts.

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing and fabrication environment.

    • Spot welding experience is considered an asset.

    • Positive, professional, and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

    • Demonstrated willingness and enthusiasm to learn and continuously develop skills within a manufacturing setting.

    • Ability to stand and perform physical work for extended periods throughout the workday.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

    • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
