Job description

Ascentec Engineering is seeking an experienced, highly organized PCBA Tooling Account Manager to oversee customer tooling projects from concept through production delivery. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, delivered on time, maintained within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with a deep understanding of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes, tooling design, and customer requirements. Success in this position requires exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
Project Management:
  • Manage multiple customer tooling projects from quotation acceptance through final delivery.
  • Develop project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project status, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate project activities across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and sales teams.
  • Conduct project review meetings and provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
Customer Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review customer requirements, specifications, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and project reviews with customers.
  • Ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated and met throughout project execution.
  • Support business development activities through customer visits and project presentations when required.
Engineering & Manufacturing Coordination:
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers to ensure designs meet customer requirements and manufacturability standards.
  • Coordinate design reviews, prototype builds, validation testing, and production releases.
  • Support engineering change management activities.
  • Assist in developing project budgets, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling development and project execution.
Quality & Documentation:
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support quality planning activities, including inspection requirements and customer acceptance criteria.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in electronics manufacturing, automation, tooling, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
  • Experience managing customer-facing technical projects.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SMT, selective soldering, wave soldering, depaneling, inspection fixtures, pallets, carriers, stencils, or custom automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • PMP certification or formal project management training.
  • Experience working within ISO-regulated manufacturing environments.

Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 20% travel for customer meetings, project reviews, trade shows, and supplier visits.
