    How you’ll make an impact in this role Department

    College of Medicine, COM Residency Program Administration

    Responsibilities

    The Program Director oversees the Internal Medicine Residency Program (“IM Program” or “Program”) under the guidance of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO). The Program Director handles the general management, curriculum development, hiring, and teaching and mentoring of the Program. The Program Director sets the strategic vision of the Program and ensures its standards, quality, and reputation. The Program Director is expected to support the collaboration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a way that improves value and quality, and that fosters a positive environment for professional practice and medical education. The Program Director will also work in collaboration with the existing program leadership to ensure outstanding educational offerings within Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital.

    Qualifications
    • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization and a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
    • Valid FL medical license, or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain FL licensure.
    • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of faculty and administrative experience in an ACGME accredited internal medicine residency program.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Effective professional management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines. 
    • Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, mentoring and teaching skills.
    • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven health system.
    • Ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person, on the phone, electronically, and in writing. 
    • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams; must be able to provide clear and accurate direction and guidance. 
    • Strong administrative and team building skills.
