This role will be responsible for program management of Research, Development and Engineering programs within Etch Service Business Unit (SBU) supporting Applied Materials' customer install base in the semi-conductor industry. The role will engage cross-functionally to drive business success through service product development and continuous improvement to meet and exceed customer expectations. Service Products are products to enhance tool productivity.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for program management of Research, Development and Engineering programs within Etch SBU including New Product Introduction (NPI) and service product development to enhance tool productivity (Uptime, Production time, etc.)
  • Program management of NPI equipment release working closely with the equipment business unit and cross functional teams ensuring product service readiness (e.g. Spares, training, Design for Install (DfI), Design for Service (DfS), Data insights)
  • Manage the development of service product roadmaps by partnering with customers through their technology cycle creating and deploying solutions to their most important issues
  • Accountable for the on-time delivery, cost and quality of new products and technologies to support customer, operating plan and growth commitments of the Etch SBU.
  • Communicate program progress/execution to upper management & stakeholders throughout the Product development release cycle.
  • Support quality, productivity and sustaining engineering initiatives partnering with customers and operations
  • Responsible for cost models with roadmaps to achieve CoO targets, including driving solution execution making sure products meet productivity requirements: CoO (Cost of Ownership), MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) , MTBC (Mean Time Between Clean) , etc.
  • Direct data analytics team and engineering to develop and validate AI-based predictive maintenance models and engineering solutions to improve benefits of service offering to customers
  • Lead concurrent service product development with good communication with BU during NPI stage, ensuring tool improvements for sustained customer engagement by having unified MRS (Market Requirements Specification), inclusion of DFi/DFs (Design for Install/Design for Service), data management
  • Partners with strategic sourcing/supply chain to ensure material readiness for their respective programs.

Desired Skills, Competencies, Experience & Education
  • Bachelor or master's in science or Engineering related degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Plasma Etch, Materials, deposition, systems/equipment experience and domain expertise.
  • Semiconductor applications and services experience desired
  • New product introduction experience with a performance-based track record
  • Customer focused - Voice of Customer (VOC) domain expertise and strong customer acumen
  • Positive can-do hands-on entrepreneurial attitude that builds support for RD&E needs
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal presence that extend confidence and humility
  • Ability to effectively manage and deliver to multiple Key Performance Indices (KPIs)
  • Critical thinking and ability to influence and communicate effectively with multiple internal stakeholders (Engineering, Planners, Sales, finance, marketing, strategy, management)
  • Excellent personal time management and project management skills.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
