Role Overview

The Managing Director will serve as a trusted partner delivering long-term value to clients including middle-market and Fortune 500 companies. The role focuses on solutions across finance functions and requires expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and consulting leadership.

Key Focus Areas
  • Ankura Quality of Finance: Assess the finance organization’s vision, strategy, operating model, organization design, processes, and technology; design and implement execution plans.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Establish business partnering through strategic long-range planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling enabled by technology.
  • Reporting: Design management reporting packages focused on key performance indicators to facilitate financial goal achievement.
  • Data Analytics & Visualization: Leverage analytics and visualization tools to influence decision-making and predict business outcomes with data-driven insights.
  • Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Optimization: Drive working capital improvements and transparency in cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Operational Effectiveness & Efficiency: Optimize finance and accounting processes, operations, and service delivery while managing overall cost.
  • Transaction Preparation & Execution: Support day-one readiness and execution of transactions or liquidity events and manage transition service agreements or business integrations.
  • Interim Management: Provide interim or surge leadership resources and solutions to leverage human capital.
  • Financial Risk Management: Address audit committee and board concerns, remediate accounting issues, manage enterprise risk profile.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the OCFO client service teams in designing and implementing holistic solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Improve decision-making, enable business partnering, and drive value.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, other professionals, and stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives.
  • Support the sale of client engagements, including scoping and pricing work.
  • Develop project work plans and deliver engagements effectively.
  • Manage the development and presentation of reports, analyses, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in business development, marketing, recruiting, and practice development activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity at the highest level.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior work experience in a financial management consulting firm.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience leading and managing teams through solution planning, design, and implementation with a focus on delivery quality.
  • Strong knowledge of core finance and accounting processes.
  • General knowledge of financial ERP systems, BI technologies, and other performance management tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize complex unstructured information and develop insights.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to influence and drive change at executive levels.
  • Ability to build relationships with the highest level of client organization.
  • Passion, perseverance, and ability to adapt to complex, dynamic situations.
  • Willingness to undertake extensive travel.
  • Willingness to work long hours during the week and weekends due to client demands.
  • Candidate must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
