Job description

Anaplan is looking for a tenaciousย Principal, Business Value & Strategyย to join our Business Value & Strategy Team. You will be a core member of the team which is dedicated to developing transformational planning visions and roadmaps with our most strategic customers around the world. The team focuses on influential customer interactions, sales strategies grounded in business impact and the assets required to guide customers through their connected planning maturity. Working collaboratively across various functions within Anaplan, we are thought-leaders in planning transformations in the areas of finance, supply-chain, sales and workforce planning across Anaplan's industries. We also provide customers guidance and best practices in capturing the value from these transformations.

The team focuses on key customer interactions, sales strategies grounded in business impact and the deliverables required to guiding the customer in creating the business justification needed to pursue the connected planning vision.

This role will have the combined responsibilities of:

  1. As part of account teams and in collaboration with select customers, leading the creation of vision and roadmap documents used by senior executives to drive business impact.
  2. Developing perspectives and the supporting materials to amplify the Anaplan stories of business transformation and impact.
  3. Scaling impact by creating re-usable assets for others across Anaplan to elevate their customer engagements

Insight on your impact

  • Conduct and facilitate internal and external research and discovery around customer's business processes, market/industry/functional trends, and business value analysis.
  • Lead vision, transformation and value assessment consulting sessions with customers, including facilitation and analysis, and craft and deliver high-impact, executive level narrative and presentations to CxOs while working cross functionally across Anaplan with our Sales and Presales teams.
  • Build strong relationships with regional sales leaders to be a key driver on strategic account planning and engagements.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the Business Value & Strategy team capabilities.
  • Influence others so that they may facilitate value-focused discovery and deliver high-level business value impact in a consistent and effective approach.
  • Key contributor to the creation and management of library assets including value frameworks, and other sales and value capture assets to help scale the team's reach across the organization.

Your qualifications, your influence

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills:

  • Confirmed experience in value engineering, value selling, strategic consulting and F500 account sales in cloud application environments. Deep understanding of value selling methodology and processes, business model value chain, and value realization.
  • Strong discernment in the business process areas of Planning & Analysis (Financial and Operational).
  • Proven skill in facilitation of complex problem solving with groups of senior executives.
  • Strong acuity in providing valuable insights to, and influence of internal GTM teams and external customers.
  • Ability to drive qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of targeted key opportunities.
  • Experience supporting the building and the continuous improvement of a GTM value practice.
  • Demonstrated perspective on how AI and automation can be leveraged to scale value delivery with track record on moving beyond traditional slide - driven consulting toward more dynamic, technology-enabled solutions
  • Ability to travel for both customer engagements and internal meetings as necessary (50-75% post WFH environment)

  • Good understanding of the SaaS platform delivery model.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to articulate and present findings.
  • Thrives in a diverse team environment willing to push boundaries and share new insights
  • Experience with EPM/CPM platforms, strong financial modeling capabilities and familiarity with connected planning or xP&A concepts.
  • Ability to operate effectively in evolving pre-sales environments while serving as a highly effective facilitator across stakeholders.
