Job description

Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926, and is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly openings for Technicians reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

General

  • Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
  • Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
  • Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
  • Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
  • Dispose of scrap into proper containers
  • Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
  • Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
  • Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands
  • Duties as assigned per Production Supervisor

Injection Operator Functions

  • Startup/ shut down of injection machines
  • Ensure machines are running as per production schedule
  • Responding to machine alarms
  • Complete quality checks (bingo trays, visuals, perform checks)
  • Documentation of quality checks at set intervals
  • Documentation of production paperwork
  • Documentation of process adjustments
  • Packaging and tagging of product
  • Troubleshooting of process and accessory equipment
  • Preventative maintenance of molds as prescribed
  • Daily and weekly sanitizing of machines and molds
  • Changeover of machines for different products ï‚· Issuing work orders for machine, mold and safety issues
  • Document machine issues via document management system (OPS tracker)
  • Lines set up and verified per the document management system (Docushare)
  • Documentation of master cleaning schedules
  • Documentation of cleaning, housekeeping in SPC
  • Collection of plant scrap at the end of shift or as necessary during shift; weight and enter into system
  • Color Changes (Plastracm Movacolor and Wittman)
