Job description

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The mission of Amazon Leo's Government (ALG) team is to leverage existing Amazon Leo technology and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to the United States and our allied government customers.
As a Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) Engineer, you will be responsible for developing SI/PI collateral supporting system integration of advanced technology, defining and developing Signal and Power Integrity test methodologies, participating in design reviews, performing SI and PI simulations, providing reports, collaborating with other engineers, validating your designs in the lab, and working to ensure a high technical bar for hardware designs across Amazon Leo.
The Signal Integrity Engineer will play a pivotal role in the team delivering innovative and fast-paced analysis and design solutions, focusing on satellite and ground system design and analysis as well as on the simulation verification of the various communication and control needs (compute, storage, data transfer, etc.) of the electronics sub-systems. They will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, from design simulation and analysis, high-speed circuit validation, to board bring-up and test. They will work across teams and support fellow engineers with design reviews and the preparation of joint reports and proposals. The candidate will have a sharp focus on the specific needs of the customer and be able to conduct trades and analyses to show that proposed solutions will meet the customer's goals.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working on complex programs with a diverse set of talented individuals, as well as with partner organizations (including government agencies). The candidate will exhibit the potential to lead small sub-teams of electrical engineers, and be able to prepare easy-to-read and technically compelling written reports.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.

Key job responsibilities
- Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements, and translate them into technically robust solutions backed by data and analysis.
- Experience in PCB level signal and power integrity analysis of complex high-density board stack-ups and transitions including via, blind-via, buried-via, and micro-via.
- Experience in signal integrity design and simulation of high-speed interfaces such as SerDes (PCIe, Interlaken, JESD), DDR, Ethernet, and MDI.
- Strong technical background and work experience simulating and analyzing electronic circuits including Analog Power, Digital Design, Mixed-Signal ADC/DAC, RF, Processors, FPGA, MCU, SoC, Memory, Transceivers, Clock generation and distribution.
- Strong background in electronics test equipment including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vector network analyzers, power meters, etc.
- Hands-on experience using EM SIPI simulation tools such as ANSYS, ADS, Hyperlynx, etc.
- Facilitate cost trades on multiple parallel board configurations for cost/manufacturability vs performance.
- Deliver well-written documentation, reports, and presentations for technical design reviews, part of proposal efforts, and final test campaigns.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience analyzing high-speed Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
