Title: Data Security Admin

Location: East Peoria, IL

Workplace type: 100% onsite (M-F, 40 hour work week)

Type: Contract

Pay: $42-44.33 MAX/hour on w2

IV type: 1-2 rounds

Length: 12 months- possibility to extend

Must haves:

  • Education & Experience Required: Associates degree required in IT or related field, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on IT Architect, including 2–3 years in a cybersecurity
  • Prior experience/roles include IT Architect, Cloud Architect would be ideal
  • Persons with prior roles exclusively in Security & Vulnerability Operations, Incident Response, GRC organizations – would not be ideal candidates

Technical Skills MUST HAVES

  • knowledge of overall cyber security
  • Knowledge of exp documenting or designing large system architecture
  • High level communication skills – updating team members and stakeholders on a consistent basis.
  • (Desired) Demonstrated expertise in developing IT solutions utilizing secure enterprise architectures using industry standards such as NIST CSF, NIST 800?53/800?171, ISO 27001/27002, CIS Controls & Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
  • (Desired)Prior role as a Network Security Architect/Engineer





Typical task breakdown:

  • Review and assessment of architectural artifacts (e.g. architecture diagrams) for compliance to security policy and identification of risks and potential areas of improvement - Collaborate with peer Cybersecurity professional in the assessment of IT solution for security posture

Interaction with team:

  • Working with global internal business partners. Will be working with main team of about 8 people and interacting with teams across the business on specific cases.


Job Description:

Summary: The main function of a data security administrator is to plan, coordinate, and implement security measures for information systems to regulate access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure of information. A typical data security administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

Job Responsibilities:

• promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.

• Review and approve plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.

• Supervise risk assessments and approve the execution of tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.

• Provide solutions for encryption of data transmissions and the building of firewalls to conceal confidential information.


Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

• Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

• Expert knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.

• Expert knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

• Expert knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, agency rules and the democratic political process.

• Expert knowledge of computer development software, such as Cisco Systems, IBM Tivoli Identity Management (TIM), etc.

Education/Experience:

• Associate's degree in computer programming or relevant field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. • 5+ years experience required.
