Job description

Role: Software Test Automation Engineer in Test / Functional Automation Tester (SmartBear Test Complete)
Location: Juno Beach, FL – Onsite
6-12+ Months Contract

Summary: Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Test Automation Engineer in Test to join our dynamic team. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, scalability, and reliability of our applications through advanced automation frameworks and testing strategies. Your expertise in industry-standard test automation skills, along with a strong emphasis on architecture and code design patterns, will be pivotal in driving our continuous integration and delivery process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks and scripts for applications and leading efforts for new QA initiatives. 
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in test automation, including code design patterns, modularization, and reusable test components.
  • Participate in architectural designs for building long term scalable solutions that can be leveraged across teams.
  • Lead efforts to improve test automation infrastructure and processes, driving innovation and efficiency within the team. 
  • This should include assessments to determine optimal testing strategies or testing layers depending on the current issues the teams are facing.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product owners to identify test requirements, design test strategies, and create detailed test plans in a test case management tool.
  • Integrate test automation into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to ensure efficient and consistent delivery of high-quality code.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and work closely with development teams to resolve issues and improve the overall quality of the codebase.
  • Monitor and report on test automation coverage, execution, and results, providing actionable insights to project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in test automation and QA processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstration of leading a team/project or successful delivery of a QA initiative
  • Proficiency in desktop based test automation frameworks such as SmartBear Test Complete (Java)
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Typescript, C# (java preferably).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes of issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and with distributed teams.  Be able to articulate issues and complex solutions to business end users or product owners.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers in test automation practices and processes.
