    Job description

    The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on building systems and equipment. This role ensures facilities are safe, functional, and operating efficiently by addressing day-to-day maintenance needs and supporting preventative maintenance programs.

    Responsibilities
    Key Responsibilities
    • Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and other machinery
    • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner
    • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life
    • Repair and replace worn or defective parts, components, and systems
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
    • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and welding tasks as needed
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and equipment failures
    • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards
    • Collaborate with other maintenance staff, vendors, and operations teams

    Qualifications
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment repair, and troubleshooting
    • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
    • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
    • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
    • Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Technical certification or trade school training (mechanical, HVAC, or industrial maintenance)
    • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facilities environments
    • Welding or fabrication experience
    • Familiarity with CMMS systems

    Work Environment
    • May work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, heat, cold, and machinery
    • May require lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, standing, and bending for extended periods
    • Possible evening, weekend, or on-call work
