    Job description

ABM is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Marketing Automation Specialist to help elevate our email and demand generation programs to the next level. This role lives in Marketo day to day - building, testing, and optimizing the campaigns and nurtures that power marketing across ABM's industry groups.

The Marketing Automation Specialist owns the design, quality assurance, execution, maintenance, and reporting of automated programs and email distribution. The day-to-day work is hands-on Marketo: developing emails, landing pages, forms, nurtures, and scoring logic, and making sure every campaign goes out clean and on time. Beyond the core platform, this person partners across business units to troubleshoot programs, interpret performance, and continuously sharpen what we send and to whom.

This role is a strong fit for someone who is relentless about optimization and genuinely curious about the data behind marketing. Comfort with reporting, segmentation logic, list management, and the systems Marketo connects to (such as a CRM) is what separates a good specialist from a great one. We value complementary skill sets - data analysis, light scripting or automation, HTML/CSS, and a systems mindset are all meaningful pluses that help this person work faster and smarter.

We are also looking for someone who is excited about AI. The marketing automation landscape is changing fast, and we want a specialist who is curious about how AI can improve everything from content creation and QA to segmentation, reporting, and program build-out - and who actively wants to work toward integrating these tools into our day-to-day workflows. You don't need to be an expert today; you do need to be eager to experiment, learn, and push our practices forward.

    • Strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Knowledge of responsive, fluid, and adaptive email design, plus cross-browser and mobile compatibility.

Core Marketo & Campaign Execution (day-to-day focus)

    • Build, QA, proof, and launch targeted email campaigns, nurtures, and automated programs in Marketo, ensuring every send is accurate and on schedule.

    • Define and execute personalized experiences for known and anonymous website visitors, optimizing messages, content, and flows for different audiences.
    • Document Marketo processes, programs, and procedures so the team can scale and maintain quality.

    Data, Reporting & Optimization

    • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of programs and tactics managed in Marketo and connected systems, helping the team understand performance and ROI.
    • Standardize, cleanse, and upload contact lists, and assist with data management initiatives that strengthen enterprise data quality and integrity.
    • Continuously test, measure, and optimize messaging, assets, segments, and tactics - treating optimization as an ongoing discipline, not a one-time task, and turning results into a steady stream of improvements.
    • Explore and apply AI tools to make program build-out, QA, content, and reporting faster and more effective, and help bring those workflows into the team's standard practice.
    • Extract and interpret data from multiple sources to inform smarter targeting and program decisions.
