The Opportunity

Abbott Nutrition is seeking a dynamicProgram Management Leader for an international expat assignment at our New Zealand site. This 2-3 yearrelocation opportunity will play a critical role in driving the successful integration ofSynlaitinto Abbott's global operations.

The Director Program Management provides overall leadership, direction and co-ordination to the Abbott New Zealand integration project team, maintaining awareness for the need for on-going change and continuous improvement, monitoring performance versus project milestones and timelines and taking corrective action as necessary to meet targets for project completion schedule, budgets and start up. Provides on-going updates to key leaders in Division, Corporate and other support groups including the Project Steering Committee, Program Management team, Commercial, and functional leadership.

What You'll Work On

  • Interface and is accountable to senior executives and provide updates to overall assigned programs. Program level is global in scope and may span multiple divisions and/or corporate.
  • Provide leadership to a multiple discipline team with responsibility for the strategy and project execution in various world wide division initiatives.
  • Put in place an effective project operational structure and anticipate the talents and skills required to meet future needs and work to develop team members' capabilities to meet these needs.
  • Develop action plans and milestones with target dates to support implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Interface with internal and/or external regulatory agencies and/or officials if required to represent division project goals and determine action plans to meet requirements.
  • Establish specific target goals for project completion and monitor progress toward those goals, providing direction and leadership to the team to meet those goals.
  • Be responsible for and manage the overall financial aspects of the project, providing pro-active direction to ensure budgets and timelines are met.
  • Ensure compliance to all Abbott quality and regulatory policies and procedures, meeting all local statutory requirements and meeting regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shipped.
  • Prepare and ensure achievement of the Financial Plans/Updates. Ensure full compliance with financial policies and procedures and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Interface with all internal functional areas such as R&D, commercial, supply chain, logistics, and marketing affiliates and others to ensure customer/client expectations are met and appropriate updates relative to project completion are provided as necessary.
  • Recognize crisis situations and make decisions to implement corrective actions at the earliest indication of trouble, even if such decisions delay project, require changes in direction or established goals or negatively impact people.
  • Set aggressive goals and targets and utilizes KPIs to monitor project milestones and schedules
  • Ensure good communication and cooperation by encouraging knowledge sharing and the open exchange of ideas throughout the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree ( 16 years) Business, Engineering, Science or related field
  • Minimum 10 years experience in large scale program and/or portfolio management experience that impact multiple functions and/or regions, impacting divisional and/or enterprise wide strategies or goals.
  • 10+ years management/supervisory experience

This position will be a 2-3 year expat assignment to New Zealand
