Job description

About the Position

The Plant Quality Engineer II plays a key role in driving process quality across axle drive assembly operations while providing leadership and direction to Tear Down Technicians.

What you can look forward to as Engineer II- PQ: 

  • Conduct internal quality investigations and resolve issues related to non-conforming parts on axle drive assembly lines.
  • Plan, test, train, supervise, and implement preventive quality assurance activities to establish capable and stable production processes.
  • Maintain quality data systems at individual assembly stations and within the central quality database.
  • Perform internal process audits, coordinate product audits, and lead advanced 8D or similar corrective action investigations from audits and internal or external quality issues.
  • Review customer 0 km, field, and warranty returns; determine root causes; and recommend timely corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for quality topics, including PPAP completion, submission, approval, and adherence to customer-specific requirements.
  • Evaluate quality documentation, assembly station tolerance changes, control plans, PFMEAs, and quality reports for axle drive assembly lines.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, and Systems Support to drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, simultaneous engineering, and quality performance monitoring.

Your Profile as Engineer II- PQ:

  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 2-5+ years related experience with quality assurance
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, and other data base tools
  • English language competency
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without company sponsorship
