The Project Manager, Capital Projects will lead capital and process improvement initiatives at our facility in Mission, Texas. In this role, you'll own projects from concept through completion, partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and facility leadership to deliver meaningful business results.

Job Description
  • Lead capital projects from planning and design through installation, startup, and project closeout.
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify opportunities that improve reliability, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout execution.
  • Apply best practices in cost management, engineering design, utilities, controls, and safety.
  • Review equipment specifications, proposals, and contracts to ensure technical and commercial requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and food safety regulations, including FSMA requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate opportunities that can evolve into future capital investments.

Projects You'll Work On
This role offers a diverse portfolio of engineering and operational improvement projects, including:

  • Mechanical systems such as ammonia compressors, boilers, and facility infrastructure upgrades.
  • Processing improvements, equipment replacements, and automation enhancements.
  • Byproduct optimization initiatives that create additional value from existing production streams.
  • Product quality improvement projects that support faster time-to-market and operational efficiency.
  • Strategic investments that improve facility performance and long-term profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Agricultural, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, engineering, technical operations, or capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive results with minimal oversight.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a consultative approach to improving operations and business outcomes.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food processing, beverage manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods environments.
  • Knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, or food safety regulations.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • PMP or other Project Management certification.
