Job Overview
The Data Systems Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing districtwide stakeholder engagement and experience management systems that provide meaningful insights for decision-making and continuous improvement. This position develops surveys, feedback mechanisms, dashboards, and reporting tools that capture stakeholder voice and measure the effectiveness of district initiatives. The incumbent analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, monitors organizational performance, and identifies trends that support strategic planning and operational excellence. The Data Systems Analyst collaborates with departments to create data-driven solutions that improve processes, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance organizational effectiveness. Additionally, the position develops and maintains interactive reporting systems that translate complex data into actionable information for district leaders and stakeholders.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Survey Platform Administration & Design
  • Serve as the district's primary administrator and point of contact for Qualtrics and related survey platforms, managing access, licensing, and platform configuration
  • Design, build, and deploy surveys, forms, and data collection instruments in support of district-wide initiatives aligned to the comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan, including stakeholder engagement, culture and climate assessments, enrollment processes, and organizational planning
  • Develop and manage automated workflows, distribution lists, and response tracking to ensure timely and accurate data collection
  • Ensure all survey instruments are aligned with research best practices and maintain appropriate data privacy and security standards
  • Continuously improve survey processes by monitoring platform updates, exploring new features, and identifying opportunities to enhance data collection efficiency
Data Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze survey and organizational data using quantitative and qualitative methods to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
  • Develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations that communicate key findings clearly to leadership, campus teams, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare written and oral reports related to assigned data initiatives for division leadership, district staff, and the Board of Trustees as needed
  • Assist with ad hoc data requests and queries in support of departmental and district priorities
  • Maintain organized data records and documentation to support ongoing reporting and longitudinal analysis
Research & Continuous Improvement Support
  • Support the design and implementation of program evaluations and research studies that assess the effectiveness of district initiatives and inform continuous improvement cycles
  • Assist with data collection and analysis efforts tied to strategic planning, district improvement planning, and accountability systems
  • Collaborate with department leads to align data collection efforts with organizational goals, board priorities, and state and federal requirements
  • Stay current on developments in survey methodology, data analytics, and educational research to inform best practices within the division
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to data, research, and evaluation functions
Stakeholder Support & Capacity Building
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to district staff on the use of survey platforms and data tools
  • Support data literacy efforts across the division by coaching teams on interpreting data and applying findings to decision-making
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to internal departments, supporting data-related needs that align with organizational development priorities

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting using quantitative and/or qualitative methods
  • Minimum of 3 years experience designing and administering surveys for research, evaluation, or organizational improvement purposes
  • Minimum of 3 years experience developing dashboards or data visualizations to communicate findings to leadership or stakeholders
  • Experience in an educational setting or public sector organization preferred
  • Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, R, STATA, or comparable programs
  • Proficiency with Qualtrics or comparable enterprise survey platforms, including survey design, workflow automation, and dashboard reporting
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or comparable software
  • Knowledge of survey methodology, research design, and program evaluation principles
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and ethical data use practices (FERPA)
  • Knowledge of K-12 education systems, accountability structures, and continuous improvement frameworks preferred
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and build positive working relationships
