UnityPoint Health has an exciting position opening to provide outpatient behavioral health services at our UnityPoint Clinic Medical District - Cedar Rapids.

This position will work closely with our multidisciplinary care team providing outpatient psychotherapy to individuals and families right alongside our primary care physicians and nursing team. We are looking for a talented therapist that shares our passion for providing the best outcome for every patient every time. Qualified candidates are preferred to possess independent licensure, training in evidence-based practices, and previous outpatient therapy experience.
Variety of Clinical Opportunities. Whether your passion is serving children, adolescents, or adults; facilitating individual, couple, family, or group therapy, we have opportunities to serve patients in many ways.
Reasonable Expectations. A full-time therapist is expected to complete an average of 26 sessions per week.
Bonus Program. For those who see additional patients, we have a generous monthly bonus program.
Flexible Service Delivery. Therapists can see patients in person or via telehealth.
Integrated Team. Therapists work with an integrated team, including care management, psychiatry, medical support, and community support professionals to provide comprehensive holistic care for your patients' needs.

Billing & Marketing Support. No need to market your own patients. We provide a full patient caseload within a few weeks, at your pace, and have a team of marketing, and billing professionals.
Scheduling & Intake Support. We have you covered when it comes to office support. Our team will assist your patients with completing intake forms, insurance questions, and scheduling needs.
EHR System. To ease your load, we provide a user-friendly electronic health record (EHR) system and tech support for any hiccups.
Professional Development. We believe in continually learning and developing our skills. We provide opportunities for paid trainings/certifications annually at no cost to you. Some of the most popular options have included certification as a Registered Play therapist, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), among many others.
Flexible Compensation. We have full time or part time options.
Private Clinic Opportunity. Independently licensed practitioners have the option to work in our private practice setting and still earn full time benefits through the Community Mental Health Center.
Public Loan Forgiveness. Employment at our Community Mental Health locations is eligible for the Federal Public Loan Forgiveness program.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, person-centered or family-centered treatment planning, and treatment of clients assigned (Psychologist with additional treating/testing duties).
  • Provides continuity of care by working with other professionals (psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, CMI staff).
  • Makes referrals based on screening protocols and assessed needs of clients.
  • Takes responsibility for emergency phone calls/walk-ins as assigned.
  • Performs after hour, emergency on-call duties as assigned.
  • Participates in organizational Quality Improvement activities.
  • Complies with Corporate Compliance processes and completes required documentation and record keeping in a timely manner.
  • Participates in community consultation and education opportunities as a representative of Abbe.
  • Develops appropriate new skills in Evidence Based Practice modalities and accepts new responsibilities as program and community needs evolve.
  • Attends staff meetings and participates in evaluating and planning for services.
  • Understands and applies ASAM criteria for decision-making and recommendations for treatment.

Qualifications
Education
Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or equivalent.
Qualifications/Experience
Iowa Independent license, required.
