Job Summary: The Financial Stability Initiatives (FSI) program manager will administer United Way financial education and savings programs, the volunteer financial coach program, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program in collaboration with United Way partner agencies. The manager will also act as a liaison for the program partners, provide agency training, and administer ongoing technical assistance with program implementation, data tracking, and program evaluation. The manager will handle budget oversight, grant reporting, and communication with United Way agency staff, other United Way departments, and the Systems Change Director - Economic Mobility Initiatives. This position is grant-funded.Supervisory Accountabilities: Staff No Volunteers Yes General Responsibilities: Program Administration & Partner SupportAdminister United Way Financial Stability Initiative (FSI) programs, including ASSET, IDA, VITA, and the Volunteer Financial Coaching Program.Guide partner agencies on program implementation, compliance requirements, and reporting expectations.Foster ongoing communication with community partners to ensure effective program delivery and participant success.Monitor program activities to ensure alignment with funder requirements and organizational goals.Budget Management & ReportingTrack program expenditures and manage budgets within approved funding parameters.Prepare, reconcile, and submit financial and expense reports.Analyze program outcomes and compile data for internal and external stakeholders.Evaluation & Continuous ImprovementLead the design and administration of program evaluation strategies.Collaborate with research and partner organizations to collect, track, and interpret performance data.Identify opportunities to strengthen participant engagement, retention, and completion rates.Training, Education & CoachingFacilitate financial education workshops and classes for participants as needed.Deliver training and technical support to agency staff and volunteer financial coaches.Administer virtual financial coaching services and provide direct support to program participants.Develop and update training materials, implementation guides, and financial education curricula.Incorporate a two-generation financial capability approach into program design and delivery.Volunteer Engagement & Community CollaborationPartner withScreen, train, and prepare volunteers and agency staff to serve as savings and financial coaches.Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching resources, and performance support for volunteer coaches.Collaborate with internal teams Volunteer Center, Marketing & Communications, and Leadership Giving teams to recruit and engage volunteers and promote and deliver initiatives such as Bank On Save Up and Money Smart Month.Strategic & Organizational ContributionsAdvance program objectives in support of United Way's strategic priorities and collective impact efforts.Support initiatives that promote racial equity and community empowerment.Maintain regular communication with leadership regarding program progress, challenges, and opportunities.Contribute to organizational success by participating in special projects and other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and nonprofit experience will be considered.Minimum of two (2) years of program management experience, preferably within a nonprofit or community-based organization.Experience managing multiple projects, program budgets, reporting requirements, and stakeholder relationships.Experience recruiting, training, supporting, and coordinating volunteers, community partners, and agency staff preferred.Knowledge of personal finance topics, including budgeting, credit, savings, and financial capability programs; experience delivering financial education or coaching is preferred.Technical Knowledge & SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel; advanced Excel skills preferred.Experience facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and meetings using platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or related technologies.Interpersonal & Communication SkillsStrong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including participants, volunteers, community partners, and staff.Demonstrated ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and interact with individuals in a respectful, supportive, and nonjudgmental manner..Professional CompetenciesHighly organized with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and consistently meet deadlines.Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to develop, document, and improve program processes and procedures.Demonstrated commitment to the mission, values, and goals of United Way, including advancing equity and strengthening community impact.
