    Summary:

    Maintains and balances the general ledger and prepares/analyzes financial statements and statistical reports. Prepares corporate consolidated financial statements incorporating all entities of the system.


    Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for maintaining the general ledger in an accurate and up-to-date condition to include, but not limited to:
    2. Prepares journal entries; Maintains supporting documentation for changes in standard and non-recurring adjusting entries; Reviews general ledger-related account areas for accuracy/appropriateness; Reviews and reconciles accounts receivable; Reviews and reconciles accounts payable; Reviews and reconciles accrual accounts.
    3. Prepares financial statements for Nash Hospitals Inc. and consolidated financial statements for all entities of the healthcare system.
    4. Prepares various reports and forms in compliance with federal and regulatory reporting requirements.
    5. Prepares benefit reconciliations for basic retirement, and supplemental retirement plans; Prepares benefit reconciliations for 401k plan; Prepares benefit reconciliations for flex spending accounts; communicate with HR and vendor for compensation and deductions.
    6. Produces and maintains weekly and monthly payroll / flex reports in Kreg system and under the general direction of the Controller, participates in budget planning, preparation, and implementation.
    7. Communicates with management personnel and others regarding general ledger, NGH financial and consolidated financial statements, other assigned financial accounting matters, as needed.
    8. Acquires age-specific knowledge necessary to provide appropriate level of service and communications.
    9. Participates in maintaining designated equipment and work areas.
    10. Takes an active role in self-development.
    11. Maintains confidentiality and integrity of Protected Health Information or "PHI".
    12. Performs other duties as needed.

    Education Requirements:
    Bachelors in accounting, Finance, or related field

    License/Certification Requirements:
    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

    Professional Experience Requirements:
    5+ years of experience in accounting

    Proficiency in financial accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    High level of accuracy and attention to detail

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills
