Field Service Manager – HVAC

Central Cooling & Heating – Woburn, MA
Salary: $90,000–$115,000, depending on experience

Central Cooling & Heating is looking for an experienced HVAC Field Service Manager to lead, coach, and develop our service technicians.

For more than 50 years, Central Cooling & Heating has served customers throughout Greater Boston. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who understands HVAC, knows how to get the best out of a team, and can keep field operations running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of HVAC Service Technicians
  • Oversee daily field service operations
  • Drive technician productivity, performance, revenue, and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with dispatch to ensure the right technicians and resources are assigned to each job
  • Provide technical guidance on complex HVAC service and troubleshooting issues
  • Monitor KPIs, callbacks, labor hours, service quality, and overall department performance
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for results
  • Handle customer escalations and resolve field issues
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard technicians
  • Identify training needs and help technicians continue developing their skills
  • Ensure OSHA, safety, and company standards are followed
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and controlling service-related expenses
  • Partner with dispatch, sales, technicians, and leadership to improve operations
  • Identify problems quickly and implement solutions
  • Build a positive, accountable, high-performing service team
What We’re Looking For
  • HVAC service management or field leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, troubleshooting, service, and repair
  • Experience leading and developing HVAC Service Technicians
  • Strong operational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable managing KPIs, productivity, revenue, and service performance
  • Ability to handle customer escalations and high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Safety-focused with knowledge of OSHA and field safety requirements
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
