Responsibilities & Qualifications We are seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer Senior to join our Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience * Ten (10) years of telecommunications experience, with at least eight (8) years focused on local area network (LAN) and/or wide area network (WAN) environments. * Demonstrated experience managing complex telecommunications applications across all phases of network design, implementation, and analysis.

* Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage large-scale telecommunications projects. * Independently perform, or work under only general direction, on moderately to highly complex requirements involving network analysis, planning, programming, and implementation. * Design and analyze voice networks, WAN and LAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems to support enterprise communications services. * Develop network designs and implementation plans covering the full lifecycle of telecommunications systems, from project inception through installation, operation, and maintenance.

* Analyze data transport requirements and system characteristics to define technical problems, develop system requirements, and produce detailed network specifications. * Coordinate closely with other information systems professionals to ensure effective and secure implementation of network services. * Collaborate with functional users to develop alternative technical solutions and backup/contingency plans.

* Manage complex telecommunications projects involving all phases of network design, implementation, and operational analysis. * Lead and manage the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers. * Design access and backbone networks utilizing carrier-provided services or managing the design and analysis of wireless voice/data networks using private radio facilities or commercial services.

* Provide technical and administrative direction to personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations. * Review work products for technical accuracy, adherence to design standards, and compliance with schedules and user requirements. * Prepare and deliver milestone status reports, briefings, and presentations on network progress to stakeholders, leadership, and end users.

* Make recommendations, as required, for approval of major network installations or architectural changes.
