Job description

This role supports the strategic procurement of circuit and connectivity solutions for T-Mobile's nationwide cell site network. As part of the All Backhaul Technology Procurement team, the Specialist works within a geographically assigned pod alongside a Sr. Category Manager, executing sourcing activities across a portfolio of regional and national telecommunications vendors. Success is measured by speed and accuracy of contract execution, contribution to cost savings, and ability to manage multiple concurrent vendor engagements across a high-volume procurement environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Execute competitive sourcing processes - RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs - for cell site backhaul circuits including fiber, Ethernet, and satellite broadband access across assigned vendor and geographic portfolio
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute contractual documents including Master Service Agreements, service orders, and amendments with telecom vendors ranging from large national carriers to small regional providers
  • Support the National Site Development (NSD) program by sourcing and contracting backhaul connectivity for new cell sites added to T-Mobile's network on a continuous weekly cadence
  • Contribute to the cell site contract renewal program by managing vendor bids, comparative analysis, and contract execution to drive cost savings across assigned site portfolios
  • Maintain and update procurement trackers, sourcing incubators, and contract management systems to ensure accurate, real-time visibility into portfolio status
  • Support vendor performance management through participation in business reviews and escalation of SLA or billing issues to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Transport Engineering as the primary internal customer, translating network requirements into actionable sourcing and contracting activities
  • Also responsible for other duties and projects as assigned by management

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Telecommunications, Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technology sourcing, telecom procurement, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure - fiber, Ethernet, point-to-point circuits, direct internet access, and satellite broadband - is a strong plus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume procurement or contracts environment (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent procurement activities across a large vendor portfolio without losing accuracy or momentum (Required)
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills, with attention to commercial terms, SLAs, and pricing structures (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and vendor bid comparisons (Required)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar procurement/contract management platforms (Preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills - this role interfaces regularly with engineering, legal, and vendor contacts simultaneously (Required)
  • Comfortable operating in an environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines driven by network build schedules (Required)
  • Experience with data analytics tools and AI-powered platforms for procurement intelligence, spend analysis, or vendor benchmarking is a significant plus (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $65,700 - $118,500
Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
