Job description

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Product Owners located in Atlanta, Georgia will define and refine user stories and prioritize the Agile Team backlog to streamline execution of product (program) priorities while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of features for the team.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Owns product end to end for products or features with moderate level of complexity and scope. This includes crafting, managing, maintaining, and communicating product vision and roadmap including technical vision and capabilities.
  • Partners with business and internal/external collaborators to understand current customer experience, identifies areas of opportunity.
  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at Director level and below. This includes regularly delivering product presentations.
  • Conducts specific ad hoc analysis and provides insights to management on request.
  • Recommends product feature set or technical improvements to improve customer experience.
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
  • Uses customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, priorities.
  • Create, lead, foster an active VOC feed for themselves and team.
  • Actively looks for opportunities to delight or meet customer's unmet needs.
  • Translates product/platform strategy by writing detailed capabilities, features and user stories consumable for Dev teams for moderately sophisticated products. This work may include creation of prototypes.
  • Collaborates with PM and Dev leaders to design, architect and assemble effective Agile delivery teams in the Agile Release Train and Agile Teams.
  • Runs or contributes significantly to key Agile ceremonies: Program Increment (PI) Planning / Big Room
  • Owns and manages product backlog and priorities with our business and technology partners
  • Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to ensure technical debt and long term technical investment is factored into roadmap.
  • Collaborates with partners and Dev / Execution teams to create and communicate anticipated release schedule.
  • Generates and maintains dashboards and reports that track product health and success metrics, technical metrics.
  • Communicates technical challenges to partners and makes educated trade-off decisions based on those challenges.
  • Identify execution, operational, organizational issues that impede product success. Drive improvement plan to change or resolve issues (within sphere of influence).
  • Collaborates and develops positive working relationships with many technical and non-technical teams, including sales, commercial accounting, marketing, legal, go-to market, finance, Dev, Architecture, Engineering. Works with outside partners and other third parties.
  • Develops positive working relationships with Customer groups or Customer Representatives.

Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:
  • Experience (1) Experience using Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools including JIRA and VersionOne to manage product backlogs, user stories, and sprints, and to facilitate continuous delivery and ensuring alignment between business requirements and development teams.
  • Experience (2) Experience in SQL to perform data analysis, querying, and validation using SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and IBM DB2, to ensure actionable insights for decision-making and reporting. Skilled in tools including Power BI and Excel for transforming and visualizing data across legacy and modern systems.
  • Experience (3) Experience in Waterfall methodology for managing full project lifecycles, including creating comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), and Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) using Visio and MS Word to ensure detailed documentation and process clarity.
  • Experience (4) Experience in project management and requirements management tools including MS Project IBM RequisitePro, JIRA, and Rational Team Concert (RTC) to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, and to ensure efficient execution and alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience (5) Experience in test management tools including Silk Central, TestRail, and ALM/Quality Center to track and manage test cases and defects, to ensure comprehensive testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience (6) Experience in UI/UX prototyping using Balsamiq, Adobe XD, and Microsoft Visio to convert business requirements into wireframes and mockups for enterprise web applications to create wireframes and mockups, to ensure effective design solution that meet business requirements.

Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Business Administration, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Salary: $166,587.00 to $170,000/year.
Candidate's pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
