Job description

Vice President, Technology - M&A Integration

Thomson Reuters is seeking aVice President, Technology - M&A Integration to lead the technology strategy and execution for complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and separation initiatives.

About the Role

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a senior technology executive with deep technical expertise, strong commercial judgment and a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs. The successful candidate will partner closely with Technology leadership, business stakeholders and the M&A Integration Management Office to shape and execute technology strategies that enable growth and successful deal outcomes.

You'll also partner closely with Labs Ventures - Thomson Reuters' internal product incubation engine - to build and scale AI and agentic solutions across the M&A lifecycle and lead the AI-driven reimagination of how M&A is executed at Thomson Reuters.

You will join Thomson Reuters' M&A integration and separation organization - a fast-paced, high-performing team at the center of enterprise transformation. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity - combining your technology experience with being at the forefront of seeing AI development driven by startups and larger corporates and how to make it successful. You will provide strategic leadership across executive, business and technology teams, helping translate deal objectives into executable technology plans and action.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technology assessments of potential acquisition M&A targets and help deliver on tech integration and M&A separation aspects

  • Evaluate acquired AI/ML systems, data pipelines and model governance, and complexities involved in integrating AI platform solutions

  • Partner with product, technology and business leaders across Thomson Reuters to understand priorities, assess impacts and align technology strategies with business objectives.

  • Provide strategic and technical guidance to senior management, business technology teams and functional organizations.

  • Demonstrate executive presence when presenting to Thomson Reuters executives, customers, partners and external stakeholders.

  • Provide technical leadership in assessing integration complexity, technology risks, cost estimates and synergy opportunities associated with potential acquisitions or separations.

  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure technology decisions support deal value, operational continuity and long-term scalability.

  • Identify technology risks, dependencies and trade-offs, and provide clear recommendations to support timely executive decision-making.

About You

You are a strong fit for theVice President, Technology - M&A Integration role if you bring deep technology leadership experience, commercial acumen and the ability to influence at the most senior levels of an organization.

Experience

  • Hands-on architecture depth, proven ability to design and assess large-scale, cloud-native systems, judging scalability, resilience, security, and technical debt.

  • Hands-on experience building or evaluating agentic and LLM-based systems, from RAG and orchestration to the MLOps/LLMOps that gets models to production.

  • Deep technical expertise and being able to interrogate a target's codebase, architecture, security, and DevOps maturity, and judge whether the engineering org can scale post-close.

  • Ability to build credibility with senior technologists, engineering leaders and business executives.

  • Commercial / business acumen, understanding what is needed to support growth, revenue expansion and operational efficiency.

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels, from deeply technical teams to executive leadership.

  • Ability to synthesize input from multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts into clear, concise and actionable recommendations.

  • M&A Due Diligence, integration and separation experience

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $171,000 USD - $317,600 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
