Job description

Renhill Group is currently looking for caring, compassionate individuals to work on a substitute (part-time, on-call) basis as a Classroom Aide through the Summit ESC in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Summit ESC operates three programs in surrounding districts:

  • Integrated Preschool Program
    • Preschool aged children with special needs as well as typically developing peers
    • Locations throughout Summit County including Cuyahoga Falls, Copley-Fairlawn, Coventry, Field, Manchester, Mogadore, Nordonia Hills, Revere, Stow-Munroe Falls, Tallmadge, and Woodridge
  • KIDS FIRST
    • Serving students with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis, preschool-6th grade, from throughout Summit County
    • Located in the Copley-Fairlawn School District
  • TOPS (Transition Opportunity Program for Students)
    • High school students from throughout Summit County
    • Located in Tallmadge School District

Duties of a Classroom Aide Include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of teacher-made instructional materials
  • Setting up and cleaning up specific centers in classroom (art, music, fine motor, etc.)
  • Assisting the teacher in supervising children (for example halls, restrooms, playground, during gross motor activities, snack/lunch, and boarding the bus)
  • Helping the children with daily living skills (including, but not limited to: removing coat, zipping, buttoning, tying shoes, and toileting)
  • Assisting with behavior interventions and reinforcement activities as directed by the teacher

No formal experience? No problem. Renhill Group's online training courses designed by current and former school district administrators will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to ensure your success in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BCI & FBI background checks
    • Completed within the past 12 months and on file with the Ohio Department of Education
    • Renhill Group offers background checks at one of the area's lowest rates ($55), if you do not already have them
  • Aide permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education
    • Renhill Group will assist you in obtaining your permit if needed. Permit costs $25 and payment is made directly to the Ohio Department of Education

Pay is $11.83/hour if you hold an aide permit.

Pay is $125/day (paid hourly) if you have a substitute teacher license.
