Job description

Description
Client Relations Manager at Martindale-Avvo - Seattle, WA
Martindale-Avvo is seeking a proven change leader and culture builder to join our Account Management leadership team as a Client Relations Manager (CRM). This is a pivotal hire as we redefine how account management drives growth, client retention, and long-term value in a rapidly evolving digital marketing landscape.
Why This Role Matters: Our business is at an inflection point. AI and shifting search behaviors are reshaping digital advertising, and our clients - SMB law firms - need trusted partners more than ever. We're rebuilding our Account Management team to be more strategic, consultative, and growth-oriented. This role will bring fresh perspective and external experience to accelerate that transformation.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of 8-12 Account Managers to exceed revenue and retention goals while building resilience and optimism through change.
  • Transform account management into proactive client partnership - helping law firms unlock more value through our full portfolio of solutions and strengthening long-term client relationships.
  • Champion our value proposition in an AI-driven market, equipping reps with compelling positioning that resonates with small law firms.
  • Drive performance using data-driven insights that identify upsell opportunities and optimize client engagement.
  • Lead through change-navigating sales toolchain transformation, evolving product portfolios, and shifting market dynamics with clarity and confidence.
  • Build culture: energize and support a team navigating ongoing change, celebrating wins, and sustaining a collaborative, client-focused culture.

What You Bring:
  • 3+ years of Account Management or Customer Success leadership experience, including 2+ years managing teams.
  • Proven success driving growth and retention in SMB-focused digital marketing, SaaS, or online marketplaces (Zillow, Yelp, Angi, Thumbtack, etc.).
  • Strong leadership track record of energizing teams, improving morale, and delivering results through change.
  • Consultative, strategic approach to client engagement - able to turn retention into expansion.
  • Analytical rigor and comfort with data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, able to influence clients, reps, and senior leaders.

Compensation & Location:
  • $110k base + $40k variable comp, with an OTE range of $150-170K
  • Hybrid Seattle, WA office (minimum 3 days in office)

Benefits To Help You Balance Your Life:
  • Free snacks and drinks are great (we have that), but we want our employees to be healthy, have time to unwind, and pursue their passions. We value your personal time as much as you do.
  • 3 weeks paid vacation, sick days, and paid holidays
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
  • 401(k) plan with a company match
  • Company-paid ORCA card
  • Accessible and transparent leadership team
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Dog-friendly office
  • Casual dress attire

This is not a standard CRM role. It's an opportunity to bring your parallel experience from other industries into legal marketing and lead the reinvention of account management at scale.
At Internet Brands, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the compensation for this role to range at $80k - $110k base + $40k VC and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
In addition to our awesome culture, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health and well-being of you and your family. Our benefits include health insurance options such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts (FSA) for medical and dependent care, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and life and AD&D insurance. We also provide a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, commuter benefits as well as access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and well-being coaching services. In addition, employees can take advantage of voluntary benefits such as home, auto and pet insurance, and discounted legal and financial services. For more details, feel free to inquire during the interview process.
