Health System Data Engineer Lead

As an engineering lead of our Data Platform team at St Luke's, you will be integral in developing and helping others develop innovative data solutions for business-critical data that is shared across the enterprise and collectively represents a "single source of truth." The ideal candidate for this position would have great communication skills, be a curious self-starter, have great analytical and problem-solving skills, and have a passion for delivering technical solutions that enable time-sensitive, critical decisions. Previous technical or personnel leadership is a plus, but not required.

  • Education:Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Develop a strong partnership with thebusinessandincrease your understanding of St Luke's business and clinical functions.
  • Co-develop recommendations, understandneedsand leaddata and analytics professionalsto deliver on requestsand projects.
  • Lead, coordinate and mentor:
  • Lead your groupof data engineerstoenhance and developstate-of-the-artdata pipelines, data lakehouseand support data extracts.
  • Mentorstaff todevelop skills andfulfillassignments.
  • Ensure the team has clearrequirementsand the solutions are tested andvalidated.
  • Provide regular status reports and planswithappropriate stakeholders.
  • Responsible for performance appraisals for positions under their direction;providesleadership guidance, counseling, and continuing education to staff.
  • Aligns and develops best practices
  • Alignwith Data andAnalyticsbest practices within other groups.
  • Workwith architects to implement solutions in alignment with standards.
  • Participate in developing and improving standards and best practices acrosstheData&Analytics department.
  • Build cross functional relationships withapplication teamsand business leaders to understandinformation needs, data flows, and data quality.
  • Working Lead
  • Design, implement, andmaintaindata management capabilities including the enterprise data platform; its associated data models, ETL processes, and data architecture requirements.
  • Utilize data profiling and data quality techniques forrequirementsvalidation, unit testing, and automated integration testing. Implement frameworks for automated and scripted testing.
  • Contribute to improving solution stability, reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Identifytechnical solutions that achieve efficiency and effectiveness and enable data usage as a strategic business asset.
  • Beavailable to support solutions as required by the businessneed.

Experience:
  • Strong SQL experience, writingqueriesand stored procedures.
  • Experience with database management systems including performance and tuning and security.
  • Experience in developing and communicating data warehouse data modelsand methodologies
  • Development experience withDatabricks andMicrosoft SQL Server Integration Services.
  • Experience with REST and .NET preferred
  • Experience with EpicEHR andEpic experience is a plus
  • ExposurewithData Lake and Lakehouse Methodologies
  • Previoustechnical or personnel leadership is a plus.
