Job description

Thomas Printworks is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about building strong customer relationships, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational and business growth.

The Print Production Manager will oversee all aspects of daily plant operations, including production, team leadership, quality control, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will not only manage day-to-day operations efficiently but will also identify growth opportunities, improve processes, and help drive the continued success of the location. Printing industry experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate plant operations in alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Communicate daily with employees regarding production schedules, priorities, and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Vice President regarding plant performance, staffing, production, and customer issues
  • Schedule and manage jobs to ensure quality standards and delivery deadlines are consistently met.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, continuous improvement, and customer-focused service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
  • Train, coach, and develop a high-performing team
  • Establish staffing and shift schedules to support production demands
  • Address employee performance and attendance concerns through effective performance management practices
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and delivery teams to ensure seamless workflow and communication
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory and material levels
  • Oversee quality control processes to achieve 100% customer satisfaction
  • Complete end-of-day business procedures and required month-end reporting
  • Maintain accurate operational tracking, reporting, and on-time delivery metrics
  • Handle cash, credit transactions, petty cash, and sales receipt reconciliation
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and ongoing coaching conversations
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety standards and operational procedures
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required
  • Maintain the company’s professional reputation through leadership, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of printing industry experience required
  • Proven leadership experience in a production, print, or operations environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong math and inventory management skills
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends as needed
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
