About the Fiscal Manager, MH/IDD/EI Role
As a Fiscal Manager within our Finance team, you'll play a vital role in supporting Mental Health, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, and Early Intervention services through fiscal oversight, budgeting, payroll coordination, and financial operations management. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and thrives in fast-paced environments where accuracy and accountability are essential.
Fiscal Manager, MH/IDD/EI Core Responsibilities
  • Establish and oversee accounts payable processes and resolve discrepancies as needed to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing accuracy of financial data, including general ledger and control accounts for assigned program areas.
  • Prepare payroll records, oversee benefits administration functions, calculate payroll, and ensure payroll adjustments are completed accurately and timely.
  • Complete month-end closing reports, post provider invoices, prepare expense sheets, balances, and financial statement summaries for assigned programs.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and semiannual budget reports and financial summaries.
  • Create and manage budgets for assigned programs, review historical financial activity and grants, and provide recommendations to support future budgeting and financial sustainability.
  • Support, coach, and develop assigned staff by providing guidance, feedback, and training opportunities to strengthen performance and knowledge.
  • Promote fiscally sound operations that align with SAM's Mission, Vision, Values, and organizational standards.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience working within Mental Health, IDD, Children & Youth, or a generalized fiscal leadership role.
  • A combination of relevant experience and education considered.
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations, budgeting, payroll, and accounting practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
