Coury Hospitality has an exciting opportunity for a Group Sales Manager at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, where iconic hospitality, high-energy experiences, and exceptional service come together in the heart of downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.

As a Group Sales Manager, you’ll be a driving force behind the hotel’s group business, building meaningful client relationships, securing new opportunities, and delivering a seamless experience from the first inquiry through the final farewell.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Sales team, you will:

  • Drive group sales and revenue by proactively soliciting and securing new business while cultivating existing accounts and market relationships.
  • Build lasting client partnerships through personalized service, thoughtful communication, and a genuine understanding of each client’s needs.
  • Own the sales journey from lead response and qualification through closing, pre-arrival planning, event execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Respond to all calls, emails, and leads promptly, with a commitment to responding to leads within 24 hours.
  • Identify new business opportunities through networking, market research, technology, industry associations, and community involvement.
  • Maintain accurate account, activity, and revenue information to support effective forecasting and business planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Catering and hotel operations to ensure exceptional event execution and an effortless client experience.
  • Be highly visible and engaged on property, greeting groups upon arrival and remaining connected throughout their event to ensure every detail is running smoothly.
  • Follow up after each function to reinforce relationships, celebrate successes, and address opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in BEO meetings, sales meetings, customer events, site inspections, and property initiatives.
  • Support sales initiatives, reporting, shows, training, and other strategic priorities as directed by the Director of Sales & Catering.
  • Represent Hard Rock Hotel San Diego with confidence, professionalism, and pride at every client interaction.

  • Have previous sales experience, preferably within hospitality, hotel, meetings, events, or a luxury service environment.
  • Are a confident negotiator, influencer, relationship builder, and closer.
  • Have an innate passion for delivering 5-star service and exceeding client expectations.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a flexible, can-do attitude to every challenge.
  • Are exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and skilled at managing multiple priorities.
